The KEYSTONE of Online Marketing Success
If you find yourself constantly distracted by the “next big thing,” and never focusing long enough to get any REAL results in your online marketing business, then you might be suffering from “Shiny Object Syndrome!”
If this sounds familiar, you are not alone! I have spent thousands trying to find the perfect answer, the easy way to build my business while it was right in front of me all along.
The answer was in what my friends and mentors, Whit and Cari Higham kept telling me and when I finally listened to them and implemented what they were teaching, my business grew!
People started reaching out to me asking to work with me, I pinch myself everytime it happens, but it happens for real!
Shiny Object Syndrome (SOS) is a “disease” that afflicts almost every entrepreneur…
Because let’s face it, it often feels like you’ve overwhelmed with 10,000 urgent to-dos to keep your business afloat and it can seem darn-near impossible to know exactly where to focus your limited time, attention, and energy.
Here are some acute symptoms of SOS:
- Chasing “the one”: Jumping from one opportunity to the next, to the next…
- “Toe dipping”: Promoting multiple offers, products, or services; never giving any one thing your full, undivided attention
- Chasing one marketing tactic—“Squirrel!”—after another, dabbling here and there without any real commitment or direction
Sadly, these business-sabotaging traits plague to way too many struggling entrepreneurs!
After 30 or 60 days they’ll say…
“Well, this isn’t working for me; guess I’ll try something else!”
Well, in case you haven’t guessed…
Constantly jumping from one thing to the next is the quickest way to burn through all your resources—physically, mentally, and financially—and will leave you high and dry without ever producing profitable, sustainable results.
This here is exactly what Whit and Cari Higham taught me, hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak...
Luckily there’s only ONE keystone to success in the online marketing industry
And once you focus exclusively on securing this essential asset, you can free yourself from getting trapped in your head, doubting your course, and never taking enough sustained action to produce meaningful results.
So what’s the ONE thing you need?
The ONE thing that will enable your success, regardless of what opportunity you’re promoting, what product you’re selling, or what marketing strategy you’re leveraging?
The ONE thing that all leaders, top earners, and successful businesses of all kinds have in spades?
An AUDIENCE!
Yep, think about it…
Every leader, by definition, has followers.
Every top earner and top recruiter has a large network of recruits and customers.
Every successful business is the result of a growing, passionate audience.
Whether you’re building online or off, the central tenet is the same…
If you’re not building an audience, you’re not building a business.
Because, let’s face it, if you don't have an audience to market to, your business simply isn't going to grow.
Now, is that audience going to come overnight? No.
Will it come easy and without investment? No.
Because building your audience is exactly like building any other relationship in your life.
Do colleagues, friends, partners appear overnight? No.
It takes time to get people to know, like, and trust you.
It takes work, hard work, and patience.
This is exactly how it works in online marketing too.
But once you’ve earned that trust and put in the time and effort, focusing on building your audience is going to get you so much further than jumping from thing to the next (which honestly, will get you nowhere.)
So that’s step one, the unequivocal KEYSTONE of your business…
Face it: no matter how great your product, service, or sales system is…
If you don’t have an audience to bring that system to… it doesn’t matter.
So, when you're starting out, you’ll want to focus on growing your audience FIRST.
You need an audience to sell to and recruit from.
It won’t come overnight. It won’t magically fall into your lap.
You’ve got to EARN your audience.
It doesn't matter how great the scripts are or how great you are, if people don't know you, it's going to be hard to convert them.
Think about it like dating…
If someone wanted to make things “Facebook Official” on the first date…
You'd be a little turned off and maybe even creeped out, right?
If someone's going to do business with you, or join your team, you have to build a relationship first.
The best way to build a relationship with your audience?
You start by putting out valuable content.
In fact, this is the “secret” to attraction marketing!
When you're creating content, you're creating consistency, you're creating focus, and you're creating value.
You’ve giving people a REASON to follow you and your business, to stay tuned-in to what you’re putting out, and you’re also building interest in your products, service, or opportunity.
With time and effort, by consistently putting out meaningful content with real value that people want to read or watch, you will grow your audience.
It's that simple.
Now, as we've been alluding to, it's not enough to simply have an audience.
You have to have a RELATIONSHIP with that audience.
So the next step in this process is to engage with your audience.
Once you have a following, even a small one, of people who are interested in your content, then you can start engaging with your audience.
As people watch or read your content, they’ll inevitably post comments.
Engage with those comments.
Most of these comments won’t lead to fruitful discussions, but some will.
Be open and frank; people value authenticity and honesty.
By holding discussions with your audience members, discussions that are authentic, honest, and open, then you can start getting your audience to know you, like you, and trust you.
You can start building rapport with your audience, opening up to them with your personal thoughts or history.
But, here’s the thing…
It’s not enough to just have an audience that likes and trusts you.
Rapport is the starting point.
But there are plenty of people who like and trust you, but will still not be interested in buying anything from you.
The next step is you have to build influence over your audience to compel them to buy or join.
Here's the thing:
No one likes to buy.
No one likes being pushed into making a decision.
Thus, your goal is to make the customer feel like THEY made the decision to buy and were not forced into anything.
So, how do you make buying feel like it’s your audience’s decision?
You guessed it, with influence!
Influence is subtle. It’s not overt.
You’re not pitching. Instead, you’re influencing your audience to buy.
And the best way to build influence with your audience is by…
Providing a SOLUTION to your audience's problems.
As you’re engaging with your audience, you’ll start learning about their particular pain points, the problems that trouble them.
Let's say you're in the weight loss industry, then you’re audience likely includes many people trying to lose weight.
So, after you’ve built rapport with your audience and earned their trust, then you can start promoting to your audience by demonstrating your expertise in how to solve their problem.
Importantly, this doesn't mean SPAMMING your audience.
It doesn't mean replying to a comment with a pitch, or tagging that person in a pitch, or posting a pitch on their profile.
Don't “pounce” on a person simply because they've shown the slightest interest.
That will make you come off as needy and desperate.
Instead, you want to lead with the SOLUTION…not the product!
Give your audience something of value, tell them about your solution to their problem, then, when they ASK YOU about your product or service, that’s when you can privately start a targeted sales conversation.
By that point, you’re filtered out the “naysayers,” people who not interested, and anyone not ready to actually solve their problem.
Now, if you want to learn more about how to create social media influence…
And discover how Whit & Cari went from an $80 residual check to multiple six-figures and top-earners in their opportunity, then I strongly encourage you to join this special training.
Obviously, their results aren't typical, but ANYONE can tap into the power of social media influence to sponsor new teammates like a pro.
No need to spam your friends’ News Feeds, copy and paste “cookie cutter” messages, or drop your company links all over the place.
You can be 100% authentic, feel great about how you “show up,” and absolutely CRUSH IT in your business
Look, they used to be “mall sharks”—and even hunted down prospects on the Vegas strip every weekend for two years.
I didn't go as far as that but annoyed my friends to the point that one friend ran away from me in the street as soon as she saw me and many unfriended me on Facebook.
Thank goodness those frustrating, dead-end days are over for us!
They can be over for you, too.
So if you’re ready to learn how to use the most cutting-edge online methods to rank advance, sell more stuff, recruit more people, and make a whole lot more “moola” in your business.
To your success
